Teach an old dog new tricksJul 15, 2009 I recently acquired an old defunct Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop (built for Win98) which I promptly refuncted. I bought this card to run with Puppy Linux on that old system, and low and behold it works! The only problem is I occasionally get dropped from the connection, though I don't know if its the card or the software or the router. This card is running on a Pentium 2 333mhz, 320mb ram, and Puppy Linux 4.something another. One pro is it loaded on my linux without having to find and download a separate driver. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.
Great service, Great wireless PC card, No problems, Easy to useMar 27, 2009 I got this D-link wireless pc card quickly, and nicely packaged. I have been using it without any problems on my two Sony Vaio laptops. Set up was easy too, just install the included driver. I am using it with Windows XP. I am very satisifed, works surprisingly well for inexpensive PC card. Have no problem connecting via Wi-Fi to my Netgear router. I plan to buy another one instead of switching on card back and forth. Highly recommended.
Bad AdvertisingMar 02, 2009 I was looking for a cheap way to make several desktops in my home connect wirelessly to the internet. The ad led me to believe these adapters would fit naturally into all desktops.Even on the box there's a picture of a desktop in the network, however, once I opened the box and installed the disk,I found out that these adapters are for laptops only,as it says a laptop is one of the requirements necessary for these pieces.I thought the price was great, but never got to use the parts. Then returning them for a refund isn't as easy as it should be.I still have the unneeded parts.
