SkyFi2Jul 05, 2009 Although the SkyFi2 receiver works well, it is older than we expected. It was listed as an "open box" item, which I always thought was a new item and basically unused. However, this receiver was obviously old and well used. However, it does fill the need we had for a working XM receiver, so we are basically OK with it, if a bit disappointed with its' age.
XM RADIOMay 26, 2009 I WAS VERY HAPPY TO FIND THE DELPHI SKYFi 2 XM RADIO, I PURCHASED ONE SEVERAL YEARS AGO FOR MY DAUGHTER FOR X MAS, HOWEVER 2 MONTHS AGO IT GOT STOLEN IN NC. DONT KNOW WHY SOMEONE WOULD WANT TO STEAL A XM RECEIVER, ITS NO LONGER GOOD TO ANYONE. AS SOON AS THEY TRY TO ACTIVATE IT, THE POLICE WILL SHOW UP
xm radio receiverApr 20, 2009 Very happy to get this radio because they have been discontinued by xm and all my vehicles and my house are wired for this unit. Thanks
Love this radioFeb 16, 2009 I love this little radio with car kit. I hardly ever lose my satellite signal (only under bridges so far).
The display is large and easy to read, the only thing I wish it had was the ability to change the color of the display, other than that, I have no complaints at all on this little guy.
I know it is an older model, and I picked it up used off the internet, highly recommend this model.
Long in the toothNov 30, 2008 I have had my unit since January 2007. It was professionally installed and it worked ok from day 1. Its a radio and it plays. At the time this was purchased it was about top of the line, but I wouldn't recommend it today.
The Good:
- Browse feature is great. You can see what is playing and go right there. Very cool.
- 30 presets or you can direct tune.
- You can pause and replay music, but only from the session you are in. Memory goes when you power down.
The Bad:
- New channels do not come up when you power down. In other words, if you are listening to E Street Radio (58), turn your car off, then start it up again, it can't find channel 58. It hangs for a minute then goes to channel 1. You can then go to channel 58 with no problem. THIS IS TRUE OF ANY NEW OR TEMP CHANNEL!! Given that the lineup has changed substantially, this is a real pain in the butt. Nobody has a fix or an explanation.
- Buttons are small and many do not illuminate at night.
- There is lag at times when tuning.
Bottom line, don't buy this unit if you are looking today. There is better out there.
