4A Techie ReviewFeb 18, 2007
This microphone is a great deal for anywhere under ten dollars. If you can get it for fewer than five dollars then you got a great deal. It has the features of a really expensive one without the price. The microphone came with a desk stand and a stand to attach it on the side of your desk. Even though the desk stand was a little light so it sometimes fell over it is still good. The voice quality for recording was good even though I would recommend downloading a different program to use instead of the default Microsoft one. If you really want a really high quality recording device look into a more expensive one. One slight drawback for some is there is no software to organize your recordings and to record easily but the fact that it has no software is good so it has instant detection on the computer. I got this as a backup microphone and so far there haven't been any problems. The fact that it is cheap and it is versatile it is good for digitalizing cassette tapes and records. The back round noise is reduced to a minimum and doesn't affect recordings. Also it can be used with Microsoft Word and has a pretty good voice recognition rate as long as you train the computer to your voice. For any people who want a cheap and well-made microphone, this is the one. I would rate it 4.5 stars.

4Bare bones, but works great on Google Talk.Jan 16, 2006
We bought this for use on Google Talk. The voice comes over clear and the background noise seems to be held to a minimum.

Simply Plug and Play - no additonal software comes with it, nor is there a need for it. All you have to do is plug it in to the microphone jack (sometimes conveniently colored pink) on the back/front of your computer -- it should start working imediatly.

Mine came with two bases: one for your desk and one that you can stick to the side or top of your monitor (or wherever.)

The cord is plenty long enough for you to be able to plug into a computer that may not be next to your monitor.

It even comes with a short troobleshooting guide (which could be useful for those that have NO experience finding the microphone volume on your computer.)

If you are looking for an inexpensive way to get your voice over the Internet, then I HIGHLY recommend this product. If you are looking for high-quality voice recording you may want to look for something more expensive.

Minus one star for the desk stand. If you pivot the mic it tends to fall out of the stand (which is weird because you have to push hard to get it back in.) Not meant to be a true pivot point or moved around alot. Just set it and forget it.
