Great stand but priceyOct 28, 2009 This stand works great. Very stable and solid. However, if you have your audio jack in the front of your computer prepare to be upset. The stand places your computer about half an inch from the table so its impossible to plug anything in. I eventually resorted to bent over card to elevate my computer (and a little bit of duct tape) in order for me to plug stuff into the front. But if all your jacks on the side of your computer then you have nothing to worry about. Last thing, its a little pricey, but at least you know that you are buying a good product
Just what I was looking for!Oct 25, 2009 Great product. I love how it just disappears under my laptop. Provides just the right angle and rise. I was worried it would be too low but it is just right.
Great but for a couple things..Oct 15, 2009 My laptop is my primary computer at home, and I play a lot of Guild Wars with my husband. The constant looking down began to cause me severe neck pain so I wanted a simple stand to bring the laptop screen to eye level. With Amazon's discount it was reasonably priced and, above all, simple. However, after using it for a couple months I realized a couple things that could make it much better and I am considering replacing this one.
First, the lips at the base designed to keep the laptop on the stand are not high enough despite the rubbery grip. I have a 17" HP laptop, and it's pretty heavy. If I move the stand a bit, or even lean my palms on it while typing, it can slip off the stand. This may not be an issue for smaller laptops. Additionally, there is not enough space between the two lips for my off-center latch (to open the laptop) to be easily accessed. Second, the heat from the laptop does seem more noticeable. I think perhaps the mesh screen stand models would help alleviate this.
Pros
Simple & unobtrusive looking
Lightweight, good height level
Cons
Lips too low
No venting for the heat
It's worth mentioning that these stands are not great for ergonomic typing. The keyboard is angled to allow the screen to be raised - for casual web surfers, or game playing that relies on a mouse, this is no problem. However, people who need to do a lot of typing may want to consider an external monitor or other docking station rather than angle their wrists improperly.
Works great... needs a wrist padAug 25, 2009 A great item. I'm very happy with the one I have. Though I think it needs a wrist rest at the bottom. I've been looking around for one, but apparently they're hard to come by anymore...
Does it's job!Aug 19, 2009 I have owned this for alittle over a month now! Paid $15.00 for it and it works great! Helps with airflow, works great with my 17" Dell Studio on my desk or the floor. Stable, looks great and well worth the price for me!
