It's A Decent Starter HeadsetOct 20, 2009 This is the first pair of headphones I've bought with a microphone attached to it to use with my PC. It worked decently and was in good shape for about 3 years. It's construction quality is decent and it's a good starter headset. It's a good microphone to use for things like chatting on the internet and making simple recordings. BUT, if you are planning on making good recordings for things like home made movies, etc., I do not recommend this product. I've used it for this and it unfortunately held flaws. It scattered sometimes, and it would fade my voice in and out at times. It's a good simple recorder for simple messages, but I wouldn't go all out with this product. It's overall, a nice starter microphone.

For the College Student without WirelessMar 05, 2008 Here's two plus years of experience with my current set summed up into pros & cons.
Pros:
- Long cord is great for those who move around their desk a lot.
- Price when I bought it and current price (3/5/08) is affordable and won't break the bank.
- Side panels on the earspeakers are changeable for those who like personalizing their items. With the set I had you could chose from red, black, blue, and orange changeable covers.
- Good for basic chat needs.
- Headset has a volume adjuster on the cord as well as a switch to mute the microphone.
Cons:
- Band that goes around the head is not adjustable. Those with larger heads may have problems getting the headset to fit.
- Plastic on the headband, particularly over the ears, has had issues with having some sharp plastic edges. On mine it was particularly noticeable over the right ear. I had to file it down a little for it to be wearable for longer periods of time.
- Foam over the microphone and earspeakers easily tears and/or comes off.
- The color on the customizable covers can be easily scratched off on all except the black covers. With the exception of black, the covers are actually silver colored with a red/blue/orange color coating.
- The tool supplied to take off the customizable covers is VERY tiny. It's about a half inch long and maybe a quarter inch wide, if that. Aside from being easily lost, if you have one cover that just doesn't want to pop off, the size of this tool will not give you leverage.
- Will not record quality sound. If you need some recording done, this isn't what you are looking for.
Other:
- Even after adjusting programs/computer, sound output from microphone tends to be quieter/lower in volume in comparison to other headsets. As this didn't always happen, this could be the settings on my friends computers, but my headset was the only one they were having issues with and this was across various chat programs. In any case, if this is an issue with the headset, it could be a problem for people trying to listen to you if they have music/game sounds/etc also going through their speakers that they are listening to.
Summary:
The price is really what makes this headset. These are the rag-tag pair of headphones you can take to a gaming/chat session, beat up and/or lose and not be terribly worried about it. For students, the extra long cord is great for letting you get up and walk around the dorm room. However, if you want something lasting, comfortable, or with better sound quality (mostly with the pickup in the mic), then I would suggest looking elsewhere.
