Very nice with one flawNov 11, 2009 I really like the mouse and I'm sorry to see it only available "used" now. I found the symmetric side buttons felt more natural than having 2 on one side operated by the thumb. Also, although not applicable to me, the mouse is right/left symmetric so it should be fine for either hand. The wheel doesn't have tilt, which is another plus in my opinion (I find using the click feature on a wheel too vulnerable to right/left movement on the wheel at the same time).
The flaw I found is the little button on the top (which I really really like). This button becoming less responsive (or multi-clicking) has been the failure mode for 2 of these I've owned (yes, I like them and they are cheap). I use the button for "Close window", which gets more use than "change program" or whatever it's supposed to be used for. Maybe I'm over taxing it, but I'd be so happy if that button held up as long as the others (which have never failed).
Love the mouse, ignore the softwareOct 09, 2009 I had used this mouse for 5 years, but it finally stopped working. I couldn't find it in the local stores, so I bought something else. I was immediately missing my MX310! So I ordered a new one from an Amazon seller. Now that I have one again, I am back in love with it. I use it on a KVM switch to both my XP-laptop and my ME-desktop computer. It worked immediately with both computers without installing the software that came with it. Some people report problems with the software, so try it without first.
Side buttons not supported in VistaMay 30, 2009 Its a nice mouse, and if you use the buttons on the side for gaming or whatever your into they work fine. Unless your using Vista, in which case I'd recommend getting a newer one! The software that allows you to program the side buttons is not supported in vista and they are by default num lock, and ... nothing on the right one.
So if your using vista or a newer OS, look to the newer versions. There may be software that allows you to program the buttons since Vista's release but I have not been able to find it on Logitech's support/drivers sites or anywhere else.
Logitech MX 310 optical mouse from Outlet DigitalMar 11, 2009 I ordered the Logitech MX 310 optical mouse through Amazon.com and the product came from Outlet Digital. It arrived in a timely manner (I live outside the US in Canada) and in great condition as if I picked it off the shelf first hand. I would definitely use Amazon and Outlet Digital again. Thanks!
Left-handed Mac&PC people rejoiceMar 04, 2009 I'm a Mac tech who hates the Apple mice. I got this mouse and I am thrilled with it. Works well for left handed people. My Mac dual boots and I have Windows XP installed and Windows is happy with it as well. Now I have this mouse on every computer I use at home and work.
