 Great microphoneOct 25, 2009
I bought this baby after looking around for a USB mike (my regular, pink mike port was giving me problems) and was quite satisfied. It's not as big as it seems in the pictures, but not too small. The recording quality is great. Never gives me any issues; all in all, great mike.

Excellent for online gamesOct 25, 2009
I started playing DDO with an RL friend recently, and he wanted to use the integrated voice comm in the game. I've got a 5.1 surround setup in my bedroom and play wirelessly on my HDTV, and I didn't want to mess around with using a headset for sound. So I took the mic portion of the headset and was using that, but apparently my audio was kind of atrocious, and they'd hear a lot of the game sounds and even ambient music in the game.
So I purchased this for that situation, because it purports to have noise canceling. My friend immediately noticed the difference and even asked if I'd turned off the music, but the audio quality on this mic really struck home when another party member was trying to adjust his microphone and I asked him to contrast my friend and myself. He said my friend sounded good if a little loud, and I "sounded like I was in the room with him". That was a pretty huge compliment on my audio quality, and it the allocates rest solely with this microphone.
I was concerned that the mic wouldn't be able to cut it in the realm of online gaming with sound coming out of speakers rather than headphone, but experience tells me that it'll work just fine. And if it works in that kind of environment, then it'll work for the 80% of you who just want to Skype.

My laptop's built-in mic and jack have a constant buzzing sound, so I bought this USB mic for using a voice chat application. It works very well. It's base is actually made of metal, so it stays put. It was automatically recognized by Windows 7.

Superb recording quality - especially for the price!!Oct 02, 2009
I bought this microphone to replace a less expensive one that I have long been disappointed with for editing home videos. But who knew (except those that own one) how GOOD this mic records?! Crystal clear from a comfortable distance from my voice, and I even tested whispering to check its quality. Outstanding! Don't let this get away - GREAT value and performance!

 Good mic - but only records in MONOOct 01, 2009
This is a decent microphone. It sounds good and looks good. It can record good from a distance and cracks and pops are virtually nonexistent.
However, it only records in mono. This means it records only in a single channel as opposed to stereo which records in dual channels. So the quality isn't great.
This mic is good for chatting online perhaps, but if you want to record audio for a documentary, commercial, etc, or anything professional, I recommend you try another product.
