5Works perfect for me.Oct 07, 2009
I put this downstairs for my home theater. It works great for me to get internet connectivity to my XBOX 360 and Apple TV - and anything else I may need in the future. The gigabit connection is great for streaming movies to my Apple TV without any interruption. Great switch, no problems, easy to use!

5Just what's needed to open up another room to your wired network.Sep 28, 2009
I have two Netgear Gigabit switches - one eight port I've had for a few years and this new five port I just purchased a couple months ago. Both have performed exactly as I'd hoped. I have pulled a CAT6 cable under my house from one to the other so these two serve as the backbone of my network. They're small, so they can fit into a small niche on a desk or a shelf (or TV stand) and they're quiet, they're fast, and most importantly they're reliable. I have a HTMini on my TV with external drives hooked up to it, and I have a PowerMac G5 acting as NAS in my office. Each serve up media and files just about as fast as a local disk to the other machines on the network. It's a thing of joy.

Being new to internet and network related equipment, I was able to figure out that this is what I needed very quickly. Pretty easy to use and a pretty good price. I have no problems at all with this product and would recommend to someone if they needed to split their network signal into more than one feed.

5So far, so good!Feb 16, 2009
This switch is giving us 1 GB speed for our additional PCs in the house. Great product. We use it with a Netgear 802.11n Gigabit Router.

Just plug and play. You will be able to tell the difference when using 100 or 1000.
